Thailand: 30 more tiger cubs found dead, toll reaches 70

Bangkok, Jun 3 (Just Earth News): A day after wildlife officers found carcasses of 40 tiger cubs in a freezer in Thailand's Tiger Temple, they recovered 30 more along with two tiger pelts and talismans made from the animal's body parts, on Friday, according to reports.

The Wat Pa Luang Ta Maha Bua temple, which is currently under the pump, has always denied trafficking allegations, reported Bangkok Post.

The daily further reported that despite massive protests from animal rights activists, the temple could not be shut down. The infamous temple acts as as a tiger farm and derives huge profits from selling them.

The latest carcasses were found in huge glass jars, inside the chambers of temple abbot Phra Sutthi Sarathera and other temple workers, reports said.
