Priyanka Chopra Jonas will star opposite Orlando Bloom in survival thriller Reset, which will be directed by Matt Smukler, Deadline reported.
The film is scheduled to go on floors in August.
Speaking to Deadline, director Matt Smukler said, “I was looking for a pairing where attraction and mistrust could effortlessly coexist.
“Priyanka and Orlando have this uncanny ability to make you believe both at once. Their chemistry is undeniable.”
Reset follows a woman who wakes up alone in a remote wilderness with no memory of how she got there. As she struggles to survive, she is forced to trust a mysterious stranger — played by Bloom — whose true identity and intentions remain unclear.
Written by Jordan Rawlins, the film is expected to blend survival drama, suspense, romance and psychological tension.
The film is being produced by Jon Hoeber and Erich Hoeber under Fratricidal Films, along with Michael Lazarovitch for Chemically Altered and Matthew Rhodes of Rhodes Entertainment.
Priyanka Chopra Jonas is also producing the project through her banner Purple Pebble Pictures, while Orlando Bloom is backing the film under his production company Amazing Owl.
Priyanka was last seen in the action-adventure film The Bluff co-starring Karl Urban.
Back home in India, she will next feature in filmmaker S. S. Rajamouli’s magnum opus Varanasi, which is scheduled to release next year.
