• Research and contribute to the design of the agenda, sessions and podcasts;
• Support the Oslo Forum invitation process, preparation of invitations, data management and communication with participants;
• Support the logistics of the event, including travel management, coordination with service providers and contracts;
• Manage and maintain project documentation;
• Support the Oslo Forum’s policy work more broadly; help prepare and co-ordinate Oslo Forum podcasts, publications and conduct background research on potential topics; research possible authors, proofread drafts and liaise with interviewees, authors, translators, copy-editors and designers.
The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:
• Hold a university degree in peace studies, international relations, political science, law, or a related field with a minimum of two years’ of relevant experience;
• Have excellent writing and analytical skills – a keen interest in strategic communication, editing and podcasting experience would be considered an asset;
• Have strong administrative and co-ordination skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks;
• Be tech-savvy with web-based communication, with experience in website management, and have excellent Excel skills;
• Have good judgment and discretion in the handling of sensitive information;
• Be enthusiastic, flexible and resourceful in finding solutions to unexpected problems and operate calmly in stressful situations;
Working environment:
The Oslo Forum is a small team working in a stimulating international environment with frequent interaction with other in-house project teams and external partners. As part of the team, the Project Associate will be able to develop her/his personal and professional expertise, management skills and contacts in the field of armed conflict mediation. The future employee will gain direct exposure to all aspects of project work and to peace process actors from a variety of backgrounds.
