We are looking for a strategic and engaging leader to join our team and play an instrumental role in helping us achieve our mission to improve the health of women and girls across the globe. Working with and strengthening engagement with our global membership, understanding and supporting their professional development needs and ensuring they continue to feel the benefits of College membership, is essential to achieve our ambition of being a leader for women’s health and reproductive health care in the UK and globally. By taking on this leadership role you will contribute to the development and delivery of our strategic ambitions in what is a very exciting time for the College.

About us:

The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists is a professional membership association dedicated to improving women’s healthcare across the world. We do this by setting standards for clinical practice, providing doctors with training and lifelong learning, and working with partners to advocate for women’s health and health care across their life course. We are a global leader in this specialist area and are in our 90th year, supporting 16,000 members in the UK and internationally.

We are a values-led organisation placing high standards, innovation, openness, inclusiveness and trust at the centre of all we do.

About the role:

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will be responsible for the effective relationship management of the RCOG with its members and partners worldwide. It is through our members that we strive to improve the lives of women and girls across the world. You will provide strong leadership to the College, strengthening the membership and ensuring a valued membership offer that meets the needs of O&G healthcare professionals at every stage of their career. Alongside your fellow Executive Directors, you will strive to uphold and advance the RCOG’s aims, objectives and values by enforcing high quality management of College staff and the policies and procedures throughout the Directorate.

You will support the improvement of women’s healthcare globally by ensuring O&G doctors are provided with high-value support and development through the RCOG membership. You will also be responsible for the Membership department’s financial performance, ensuring it is in line with the agreed ten-year financial plan and exploring opportunities for cost improvement and maximising income.

This is a unique and exciting opportunity, which will also allow you to work closely with the Centre for Women’s Global Health department, leading on strategy development and identifying and implementing new global health development programmes in partnership with the membership and other key stakeholders.

Requirements:

With substantial experience of leading at a senior level within membership growth and global engagement teams, you will need to demonstrate experience of successful stakeholder engagement and leading global marketing and communications strategies. You will be educated to degree level or equivalent and have an understanding of strategic challenges affecting membership engagement and service implementation. You will need to demonstrate ability to deliver strategic change and a strong programme management approach.

Benefits:

Along with the knowledge you will be joining an organisation making a positive impact on the lives of women and girls across the globe, we offer a friendly working environment and an excellent benefits package including free staff lunches, a full list of benefits can be found on our careers site. You will be located in our brand new bespoke office in London Bridge.
