Kabul: The death toll in the truck bomb attack in east of Kabul city of Afghanistan on Monday evening touched 16, media reports said on Tuesday.
The incident left 119 people hurt.
The attack targeted Green Village compound, a residential area for foreign nationals and offices, a spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, Nusrat Rahimi, told Tolo News.
He said the blast occurred around 9.55 pm local time.
He added that a fuel station in the area caught fire following the blast.
Rahimi told the news portal that five attackers were involved in the attack who were killed after Special Forces entered the area.
At least 400 foreign nationals were rescued from the area by police, he told the news portal.
The blast was heard from different parts of the city.
