Kabul: Unknown attackers killed a district public health official in Afghanistan's Sherzad district, media reports said on Friday.
The Sherzad public health officer, Dr. Sardar Wali, was shot dead by unknown gunmen late Thursday,Nangarhar public health department spokesman Inamullah Miakhel told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Provincial public health director Dr. Najibullah has condemned the incident.
He also informed the Afghanistan based news agency that security forces have launched an investigation into the matter.
