Afghanistan: District police chief killed in Taliban attack

Kabul: Abdul Malik Nizami, the police chief for Sayyad district of Sar-e-Pul province, was killed during a clash with Taliban members in Sar-e-Pul province of Afghanistan, media reports said.

Abdul Qadir Ashna, governor of Sar-e-Pul, was quoted as saying by Tolo News that five police force members were killed and seven others were wounded in the attack.   

The clash happened after Taliban attacked Sayyad district, he told the news portal.

The governor informed that 13 Taliban terrorists were also killed in the incident.

Taliban has not commented on the issue so far.
