Indian army engaged in two encounters in J&K to foil infiltration
Srinagar, May 27, Encounter between armed forces and terrorists continue on Friday at Naugam sector of Handwara in northern Kashmir's Kupwara distrit, while, in a separate incident, fierce gunfight broke out on Friday between suspected militants and security forces in North Kashmir Tangmarg area of Baramulla district, media reported.

In the Naugam encounter, one army personnel and four terrorists have been killed, according to media sources.
 
Army on Thursday intercepted a group of six militants near the Line of Control in Kupwara district, triggering an encounter.
 
According to sources, jawans of 35 Rashtriya Rifles intercepted militants at Toot Mari Gali (TMG) in Nowgam sector along LOC while making an infiltration bid.
 
On Friday, according to reports, security forces launched a search operation in Tangmarg village Kanchipora, some 40 km from Srinagar summer capital of Kashmir, following information about the presence of two militants of Hizbul Mujahideen in the area.
 
The gun battle started at 6 am when the militants were challenged. One soldier injured in this encounter, according to NDTV.
