Your Mission

As a Graphic Designer you will create a wide range of materials that communicates Proximity’s social impact mission. With over 15 years of creating products and services that boost rural farmer’s incomes, empathy is one of our central values. Similarly, empathy is built into our graphic design process, and while we believe a strong working knowledge of industry software is important, we strongly emphasize process and design thinking methodology. As part of our Creative Services team, your mission will be to approach projects of varying scale as individual design challenges and create insightful and compelling designs across a variety of platforms. This is a one of a kind opportunity for someone with a passion for visual communication, looking to develop their skills while making a difference in the lives of rural families in Myanmar.

What You Will Do

• Develop and design collateral items across platforms in print, digital and experiential formats.
• Create internal and external communications materials, ranging from social media posts, event graphics, presentation decks and reports, marketing collateral, to swag merchandise.
• Collaborate with the team’s graphic designers, photographers and copywriter on concept development and design.
• Present design work to internal stakeholders.

Requirements

• 2-3 years of relevant industry experience.
• Strong concept development ability, with thoughtful consideration throughout the design process.
• Strong typography in Burmese and English.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Proficiency in relevant industry tools: Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop). Experience with AfterEffects is a plus.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills. The ability to work well on a team as well as cross-team.
• Ability to work within timelines and budget while producing accurate and high-quality work.
• Familiarity in web development (html/css, programming) a plus.

Submit a portfolio of 4–6 projects. The selections should display a wide range of strengths related to: composition and layout, typography, subject matter, fluency of technique, and should be reflective of your working process. Examples of work can include posters, brochures, editorial design, package design, motion design, web design, logo design or process books.
