Expert Skill Up*
in Bonn

The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial contract duration until December 31, 2020. There are good prospects for an extension. Employment location will be Bonn, Germany.

Skill Up! serves as a pilot programme within Welthungerhilfe to develop a scalable approach for vocational training projects and to establish a skills development sector in the organisation. The aim is to strengthen the employability of vulnerable young people in order to increase their chances of an adequate income and to improve their quality of life. As Expert Skill Up you will be responsible for the conception, management, execution and strategic further development of topic-related processes/projects within Welthungerhilfe and thus make a critical contribution to the success of the unit and the overall organisation.

Your responsibilities

• Development and maintenance of a knowledge management system
• Development/improvement of a MEAL system (Monitoring-Evaluation-Accountability-Learning) and target-oriented monitoring tools for impact measurement at programme level and reporting on the progress of the Skill Up! programme
• Backstopping of the country offices and partner organisations in carrying out monitoring activities (surveys, assessments)
• Backstopping the project teams and partner organisations in the implementation of Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS) within the Skill Up! programme
• Support of project team members in the development and use of complaint response mechanisms
• Ensuring the exchange of knowledge and experience (documentation and systematisation of lessons learned ) within the country and between the five country projects
• Participation in the conception and implementation of internal and external Skill Up! related evaluations in the project countries

Your profile

• A university or polytechnic degree in a relevant field like adult education or related areas
• A minimum of 3-5 years relevant working experience; preferably in the field of development aid
• Sound MEAL knowledge, preferably in connection with Skills Development projects/adult education in cross-border programmes
• Ability to work in an intercultural environment
• Readiness to travel to areas with volatile local conditions
• Professional proficiency in English and French (verbal and written)
