Eurasia Group is an independent, global, research and consulting firm specializing in political risk analysis. We are seeking an entry-level candidate to prepare standard internal intelligence reports on our clients and perform certain research tasks such as tracking developments on global trade agreements, head of state/government approval ratings, and economic sanctions. The position will perform research on EG clients and prepare internal intelligence templates for analysts and senior leaders of the firm in advance of their client meetings. EG clients are multinational corporations and asset managers with global operations. Critical datapoints to be research include

• Biographies of key client people
• Performance of the fund or company
• Client products or services
• Geographical footprint
• Current scrutiny in the global media, specifically relating to political risks

Other research tasks include

• Weekly tracking of developments of global trade agreements such as the pacific Alliance-Singapore FTA.
• Updating a matrix of global sanctions actions against states such as Russia, North Korea, Iran, and the US, concerning up to 20 countries, the EU, and UN.
• Tracking approval ratings for key governmental leaders (heads of state, heads of government)

You will work well both independently and as part of a team. You will regularly communicate via phone and webex/video, and liaise with other Business Development team members, Country Risk Analysts, and other firm units. You will have excellent analytical skills and a current understanding of EG client segments. Background in economics, commerce or business administration is critical. The position is based in our small but growing Sao Paulo office, and will report to Eurasia Group sales operations leadership in New York. No travel is expected.

The position is not a political risk analysis research/analytical/policy or content role – there are no primary research activities (such as interviewing policy makers) – it is an internal role.

You will have at a minimum an undergraduate degree such as a Bachelor of Economics or Business Administration. Relevant research or internship experience is expected. Applicants are required to have a demonstrable interest in Eurasia Group’s core political risk assessment competency. All applicants must be eligible to work in Brazil.
