About the Position:

PCI Media seeks to hire an experienced Director of Global Programs (DGP) to drive the development, implementation and evaluation of PCI Media programs portfolio, currently spanning over 30 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean and the United States. PCI Media programs address public health, environmental conservation, human rights and social justice. The Director of Global Programs will provide overall leadership, management and strategic vision to the implementation of programs in the Environment, Health, and Social Justice portfolios addressing a variety of issues with diverse stakeholders and cultures. This international management position requires a strategist and program developer who is an active, hands-on leader, effective manager and consummate team– builder with outstanding facilitation and communication skills that translate across varied cultural contexts. The Director of Global Programs will foster creative solutions to manage PCI Media program portfolio for efficiency and impact.

The Director of Global Programs will report to the Executive Vice President of PCI Media. The Director of Global Programs will have 5 direct reports and over 20 indirect reports consisting of program managers and officers based in New York and around the world. The Director of Global Programs will work collaboratively across the organization to facilitate excellence in programming. The Director of Global Programs will participate as a member of the organization’s leadership team.

Primary Responsibilities:

Program Design
Work in partnership with the Development Team and Program Managers to identify and pursue funding for programs
Advise the Leadership Team on key strategic opportunities and challenges for program development that consider existing capacity, partnerships and expertise, allowing for sustained growth
Conduct field visits to develop program opportunities
Facilitate cross functional and culturally diverse teams to design programs with high quality objectives, implementation plans, monitoring frameworks and budgets
Facilitate identification and recruitment of technical and implementation partners to facilitate creative design
Program Management:
Ensure excellence in program design, delivery and impact
Ensure that programs fulfil deliverables on-time and within budget
Ensure policies, practices and controls are in place to monitor and adaptively manage performance
Manage relationships with current and prospective partners and their country representatives to maintain and strengthen collaborative working relationships program partnerships.
Conduct field visits to maintain a high degree of visibility with partner country representatives, technical experts, and team members and to support program activities as needed
Program Monitoring, Evaluation       and Continuous Improvement
Ensure all programs have evaluation frameworks that are appropriate and intellectually rigorous
Ensure policies, practices and controls are in place to monitor and adaptively manage performance
Use program monitoring and impact data to refine and improve program design and operating procedures
Ensure that all program design documents and content are archived and published in appropriate publications
Work with the Communication Team to surface and share compelling program stories and impact data with external audiences 
Requirements:
MA/S or equivalent experience in international development, communication, social science or other fields related to behavior change communications
10+ years of global experience, with at least 3 years at the senior-management level
High degree of proficiency in managing relationships with key constituencies, including staff, government representatives, NGOs, funders, corporate sponsors, not-for-profit and for-profit counterparts, donors and community leaders. Strong sense of diplomacy, with highly developed sense of personal integrity
Demonstrated creative leadership in the field of social and behavior change communications, communication for development, Entertainment-Education, campaign and media production, with expertise in strategic visioning, behavior change theories, and program evaluation. Experience in 'new' communication for development platforms (mobile, internet, animation, gaming) is highly desirable
Proven ability to creatively and flexibly manage human, financial, and material resources to achieve objectives in a timely fashion
Experience working with international media, broadcasters and creative and production staff strongly preferred
Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
Proficiency in English is essential. Additional proficiency in Spanish or French is particularly valuable
Excellent interpersonal skills. Must be a team player, able to facilitate a cohesive team spirit among staff and colleagues
Willingness and ability to travel extensively to international locations on a frequent basis (approx. 30%-35% of time)
