Seoul/Pyongyang: Officials in both North and South Korea have confirmed that the leaders of the respective countries will meet on Apr 27, reports said on Thursday.
The meeting will be attended by North's Kim Jong-un and South Korean President Moon-Jae-in.
It will take place in the border village of Panmunjom, a joint statement said
Earlier this week, Kim Jong-un made an official four-day trip to Beijing, his first foreign visit after resuming office in 2011.
According to reports, Kim expressed his desire to meet US President Donald Trump.
However, the US has said that its leader will only hold talks with Kim if North Korea agrees to denuclearize, after Trump agreed to meet Kim.
On Wednesday, reacting to Kim's meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Trump said he was happy with the latest development, however, he stated that 'maximum sanction and pressure' must be put against North Korea 'at all cost'.
Received message last night from XI JINPING of China that his meeting with KIM JONG UN went very well and that KIM looks forward to his meeting with me. In the meantime, and unfortunately, maximum sanctions and pressure must be maintained at all cost!
